My Story

I grew up in Central New York in the heart of the Finger Lakes. When not practicing therapy or engaging in conversations about erotic intelligence, you can find me baking pies of all kinds, reading Audre Lorde, or backpacking with my family.

My Background

I am a licensed mental health counselor and sex therapist specializing in relational and sexual concerns for couples and individuals.

Over the last decade, my work has focused on supporting human sexuality and relationships with couples and individuals. I work with clients of all gender expressions, sexual orientations, love styles, and in kinks/BDSM/polyamorous relationships.

My Process

I use a modern therapeutic approach that integrates sex therapy and various models of psychotherapy. I am a member of AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) and am pursuing the title of Certified Sex Therapist from the Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment.

What You Can Expect

Of course, counseling varies from client to client, but my process typically entails the following:

Step 1

First, we will establish your relationship dynamics with your partner(s) and investigate the conflict(s) therein.

Step 2

Then, we will move to the explorative. Both parties must have the space to express their rightful emotions. As a therapist, it is important for me to slow down the emotions and questions, and push against society's need to demand an instant decision for the couple's future.

Step 3

Finally, we explore meanings and motivations, asking questions that promote growth versus finality. This empowers the couple to show interest in caring and understanding each other's experience. The work doesn't end here—this is only the beginning of a potential new contract in your partnership
